Writing Lab

The course is designed for 5th to 8th graders who may have received insufficient direct writing instruction or whose writing quality needs improvement, particularly in assignments from literature, history, science, or other content subjects. Rather than assigning new writing tasks, the course leverages students' existing or upcoming assignments to teach proofreading, editing, and revising skills, with a focus on MLA formatting conventions and specific stylistic elements. While essay organization isn't initially emphasized, the instructor may address it mid-term if commonly needed. This is not supplementary tutoring for a Writing and Rhetoric class.
