Writing for Upper High School and College (English 4/5/6 Writing Prep)

This summer course is designed for students who will be taking TPS English 4/5/6 Advanced Composition or TPS English 5/6 College Composition, as well as those new to TPS upper-level composition and literature courses who are looking for a composition emphasis. The course covers various aspects of writing, including effective beginnings and endings, rhetorical strategies, organization, word choice, writing for an audience, and writing for different mediums. Students can expect to analyze professional pieces of writing and participate in regular peer reviews. The course aims to help students improve their writing skills, making their writing more impactful and focused. The course is relaxed in attendance and assignments are optional, allowing students to enjoy their summer break while preparing for the next school year. However, the course does not provide a final grade or credit, and it is not a prerequisite for any TPS course.
