Writing for Early High School (English 3 Writing Prep)

This online course is designed to help students prepare for high school essay writing, with a focus on developing six key writing traits. The course covers content, organization, voice, word choice, sentence fluency, and conventions to enhance basic proofreading, editing, and writing skills. Students will receive detailed instructor feedback and classmate comments on their written work, which will be based on a variety of prompts. This course is recommended for students preparing for essay writing in TPS grade 9 (English 3) level courses.

The course is structured to provide weekly practice, evaluation, and feedback in writing skills related to the course level. It is offered during the summer months and is classified as "relaxed" in attendance, with optional assignments. While individual assignments receive feedback and a grade, the course does not have a final grade or credit. It is not a prerequisite for any TPS course and does not provide placement approval for any course.
