About this Course

This online course is designed for young writers who have a basic foundation in writing 2-3 paragraph responses and are looking to enhance their creative and academic writing skills. The course focuses on teaching students how to write short stories, with an emphasis on character, setting, and plot development. Students will also learn narrative and analytical writing techniques to help them develop their unique voice. The course incorporates grammar and mechanics instruction to improve sentence structure, variety, and fluency. In-class workshops provide students with feedback on their work from peers, promoting a positive and creative environment for writing.

This course can be used to form a complete elementary language arts program when combined with a TPS Elementary Humanities course. However, it does not provide a complete grammar curriculum. If looking for an interactive grammar class, TPS Grammar 1 - Structure and Mechanics is recommended. For English language learners, it is recommended to contact TPS to discuss the most suitable course for improving English writing within their English as a Foreign Language program.
