World Geography and Cultures

This online course offers a comprehensive study of geography, taking students on a virtual tour of different countries and regions around the world. The course is structured to provide an overview of the general principles of geographic study, while also delving into the unique physical characteristics and cultures of various places. The course follows the six essential elements of the National Geographic Standards, which include the study of spatial terms, places and regions, physical systems, human systems, environment and society, and the use of geography. Students can expect live classes with group discussions, quizzes, homework assignments, and a final project that involves conducting focused research on a country of their choice. The course is recommended for 7th grade level and up, with an estimated 2-3 hours of work per week outside of the live class.
