Western History

This online course, designed for 9th-10th graders, offers a comprehensive examination of cultural transformation from the early Enlightenment to the late Industrial Age. Students will delve into primary sources, engaging with influential writings and actively participating in discussions and debates to grasp the progression of ideas across these eras. The course objectives include enhancing reading and writing skills, fostering critical thinking, and understanding the interplay of various ideas that drove these historical periods. It is paired with a British Literature course and may be taken as a standalone history study, earning students one high school credit in history. The course integrates faith through charitable interpretations of texts and discussions based on Christian perspectives.
