About this Course

The "Well-Ordered Language" course is designed for rising 4th to 5th graders and focuses on introducing and teaching grammar concepts in an engaging and structured manner. Over two semesters, students explore various parts of speech, sentence structures, and syntax. The first semester covers declarative, interrogative, imperative, and exclamatory sentences, along with subjects, predicates, verbs, adjectives, direct objects, subject pronouns, and helping verbs. The second semester delves into object pronouns, compound subjects, verbs, and direct objects, among other topics. The course employs a multi-disciplinary approach, incorporating reading, writing, speaking, listening, physical movement, songs, and chants. Instruction is presented within narrative and poetic contexts, using samples from classic children's literature.

The course meets thrice weekly for 45 to 60 minutes, catering to young learners' attention spans. It requires no prior grammar instruction, with only basic reading and writing skills being necessary. Placement outside the target grade range is considered on a case-by-case basis. The course is designed for a corporate learning environment and an online classroom dynamic suitable for 4th to 5th graders.
