About this Course

The Nomadic Professor’s American History Part 3: Monsters to Destroy is a 1-semester course that covers the time period from Reconstruction to Pearl Harbor. This course is the third of four parts in The Nomadic Professor’s American History survey program and is designed to help students become masters of American history and source material. The course is taught by a college professor who provides on-location historical mini-lessons from various locations around the world. The course is a rolling admission that begins at the start of each month, and students have 5 months to complete the course.

The course is structured around weekly assignments, including readings, on-location videos, end-of-unit document lessons, and notes. The course is self-paced with loose boundaries and students have approximately 1 hour per school day to complete the work. The course is designed for students in grades 9-12 and is an Honors course that challenges students to think deeply and carefully about the material. High-speed internet, streaming video capabilities, and PDF editing software are required to take the course.
