About this Course

This is a one-semester online course that focuses on the development of governmental systems in the United States. The course aims to prepare students for active and informed participation in the democratic public sphere by examining fundamental principles of founding documents and their evolution over time, the varying roles of different branches of government, and the influence of special interests. Current events are integrated into the curriculum to provide relevance and context. A prerequisite of U.S. History or Advanced Placement U.S. History is required.
