Understanding the Catholic Mass

This online course, suitable for students in grades 7-12, is an in-depth exploration of the Novus Ordo (Ordinary Form) of the Catholic Mass. Students will learn about each component of the Mass, from the entrance to the dismissal, with the aim of fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation for the liturgy. The primary resource for this course is 'A Biblical Walk Through the Mass' by Dr. Edward Sri, supplemented by readings from the Early Church Fathers, Bible, and Catechism of the Catholic Church. Additionally, students will learn basic ecclesiastical Latin vocabulary and prayers, with no prior Latin knowledge required. The course aims to transform Sunday Mass from a holy day of obligation into a holy day of opportunity.
