Understanding Our Universe through Astronomy

The "Understanding Our Universe" is a comprehensive 16-week high school astronomy course adapted from college-level materials. It combines interactive technology, the scientific method, and real-world learning experiences to engage teens and deepen their understanding of the universe. The curriculum covers the foundations of astronomy, an in-depth exploration of our solar system, stars, stellar evolution, galaxies, the universe, and cosmology. Taught at an advanced level, the class includes weekly 50-minute webinars, with recordings available for missed sessions. It is designed to be a suitable extension for students interested in astronomy who have studied Big History or Physics Literacy.
