About this Course

The online course, TGC 1, introduces students in the School of Logic (typically grades 7 and up) to some of the earliest and most influential stories written, focusing on ancient Mesopotamia, Israel, Greece, and Rome. Key authors studied include Homer, Herodotus, Livy, and Virgil. Through close reading and discussions, students compare and contrast authors' ideas with biblical teachings. The course involves significant reading (3-5 hours weekly), along with regular class discussions, writing assignments (two papers per semester and a weekly discussion board post), and exploration of how dialogue is approached biblically. Note that this course does not earn high school credit.
