About this Course

The WTMA Summer Reading Club is a course designed for logic-stage students to engage in reading and discussion during the summer break. Over the course of eight weeks, students will come together with their instructor and peers to think and talk about that week's reading, with the instructor serving as a moderator for the academic discussion. The theme for this summer is "Fiction in Translation," where students will read and discuss wonderful and exciting texts translated from their original language into English.

Class attendance and participation are the only requirements for this course, with students who participate in all eight sessions receiving a WTMA Summer Reading Club t-shirt. Participation credit can be earned by attending the live class or watching the recording of a class and then completing a discussion board response based on a given prompt. In addition, several students each week will be assigned to serve as discussion facilitators and bring two open-ended questions about the text to ask their peers.
