About this Course

The WTMA Summer Latin Reading Club is a four-week online course designed for students who have completed Latin I and up. The club aims to keep students engaged in reading and discussion over the summer break, with a focus on developing and maintaining language skills. Each week, students will come together with their instructor to discuss that week's reading, using a tiered reader for the first two weeks and a myth in novella format for the second two weeks. Advanced students will be given additional readings to supplement the main text and may be encouraged to help facilitate class discussion.

The course is appropriate for students with a range of Latin proficiency, from those who have just completed Latin I to those with more advanced skills. The use of tiered readers and novella format ensures that all students are able to engage with material at an appropriate level. The focus of the course is on developing reading comprehension and discussion skills, with an emphasis on collaborative learning. Prerequisite for the course is Latin I or higher.
