About this Course

The Story of the Early Modern World is a full-year online course that delves into world history from the Age of Colonization in the 1600s to the revolutions and changes of the early 1800s. This course is specifically designed for middle-to-late stage logic age students (7th and 8th graders) to deepen their understanding of historical and intellectual causes of significant world events. Students can expect weekly discussions, written assignments, and discussion board tasks that focus on historical fact mastery, key idea comprehension, and study tool proficiency. Additionally, students will write seven short papers and take an end-of-semester exam to review the semester's material. A final project is required in the spring semester.

This course can be taken independently of Story of Early Modern Times or Story of the Modern Age, offering a rigorous learning experience for late-stage logic-age students. The weekly structure allows students to balance their workload with a growing set of study skills, preparing them for high school level learning.
