Story of Ancient Times

The "Story of Ancient Times" is a full-year, online history course designed specifically for young students in grades 5-6. This course covers the period from the earliest written records to the final Roman Emperor, and includes weekly interactive discussions among students and the instructor. Through writing assignments, students develop historical analysis, research, and organization skills, with a focus on critical thinking and primary source analysis. Weekly open-book quizzes prepare students for closed-book tests, while hands-on "engagement assignments" are given several times per quarter. "Story of Ancient Times" may be taken before or after "Story of the Middles Ages," providing a challenging learning opportunity for early-stage logic-age students.
