About this Course

Aim Academy offers an intermediate Spanish course with a unique approach to language learning. This Content-Based Instruction (CBI) or Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) course integrates Spanish with the study of other subjects, providing students with a well-rounded educational experience. In the Spanish with Embedded Health course, students will spend 3-4 years in the intermediate class, studying different real-world topics each year, such as health, economics, geography, and current events. This course allows students to earn credits for both Spanish and the other subject areas studied.

In the Spanish with Embedded Health course, students will use materials from various countries to study different aspects of personal and community health. Throughout the year, students will review videos, infographics, blogs, and websites in Spanish, create projects in Spanish about the week’s topic, and spend time doing things in Spanish at least five days each week. This course is suitable for 9th-12th graders with some prior experience with Spanish. The course runs on high-speed, broadband Internet, requires a headset and microphone, and streaming video capabilities to watch recorded lectures. Feedback is supportive, and students are encouraged to supplement the course with the self-paced Spanish Grammar course for more corrective feedback.
