Spanish 1

The online course, Spanish 1, is designed for high school students (grades 9-12) and focuses on establishing a solid foundation in Spanish language skills. Students will learn and practice Spanish vocabulary and grammar, enabling them to understand, speak, read, and write in Spanish with confidence. The course also emphasizes cultural understanding, exploring the history, geography, and culture of Spanish-speaking countries through artists, writers, and current events. Prerequisites include a strong understanding of English and/or Latin grammar.

Throughout the course, students can expect to dedicate approximately 3-4 hours per week for homework, which involves practicing vocabulary, completing grammar exercises, and participating in weekly discussion board posts. It is offered as part of a series, with Spanish 2 and 3 also available for continued study. The course is structured to be completed over a full academic year.
