Shakespeare on Film
$415.00
About this Course
This is a one-semester course that explores five of Shakespeare's most frequently adapted plays and their movie and television adaptations. Students will examine the plays' characters, plot, setting, style, and language, and will reflect on the adaptations' setting, costume, acting, editing, directing, and context. Through this course, students will learn how to compare and contrast the adaptations with each other and with the original works, as well as understand how and why certain aspects are altered or discarded in adaptations. This course will be offered in Spring 2026 and alternates with Introduction to Film Studies.
