Senior Thesis

The course, titled "Senior Thesis," is a half-credit, year-long Language Arts program designed for high school students in grades 11-12, though strong 10th graders may also participate. It guides students through the process of writing a research paper, from selecting a topic to its completion and presentation. Key skills developed include formulating and defending a thesis, organizing written expression, and correctly referencing sources according to MLA standards. Students are expected to spend 3-6 hours per week on the course. The course culminates in a formal in-class presentation of each student's paper, which is designed to be a strong addition to college/university applications.
