Russian 3 (US)

This online course, Russian 3, is a continuation of Russian 1 and 2, designed to build upon existing knowledge of modern Russian. Students will further develop their communication skills in written and oral forms, exploring more complex aspects of the language. The course combines explicit grammatical instruction with active student conversation, ensuring at least 75% of lessons are conducted in Russian to engage students' senses. A range of materials is employed, including casual conversations, art, literature, hymns, poetry, and cultural elements like Russian recipes. Written homework and periodic oral/written quizzes aid in reinforcing new material and assessing mastery. Each semester culminates in a creative project involving research or collaborative creativity. Despite its rigor, the coursepromises a sense of accomplishment and appreciation for Russian culture, history, and language.
