Russian 1 (MS/US)

The course "Introduction to Russian Language and Culture" immerses students in learning Russian from its basics to conversational proficiency over an academic year. It focuses on real-life language use, combining oral conversation, writing, and cultural exposure to both historical and contemporary Russian contexts. Each lesson culminates in written homework for reinforcement. Notably, the course aims to enhance students' understanding of English grammar as they learn Russian. Students will acquire skills such as reading, writing, and pronouncing the Russian alphabet, understanding introductory vocabulary, basic verb conjugations, and grammatical cases.
