Representational Drawing

This online course, instructed by Mrs. Elizabeth Lindee, introduces students with little to no background in drawing to the art of representational drawing. It is designed to equip students with the skills to observe and translate elements of design and beauty from the natural world into art. The curriculum covers principles of light and shadow, drawing techniques, composition, and color theory. Students will learn through a combination of demonstrations, direct observation, study of master drawings, exercises, and finished compositions. Throughout the course, students will engage in group discussions about art, discuss their creative process, and provide feedback to peers. This course aims to enhance students' perception of design and beauty in the natural world and foster an understanding of the visual language used in great art.
