Reading Foundations 1: Beginning Readers

This online course, "Get to Know Reading Foundations with Angelique Chaverri," is a weekly one-hour program designed for both parents and their young children. The instructor, Angelique Chaverri, introduces one to three new phonogram sounds per session, along with teaching appropriate letter formation, grasp, posture, and sound discrimination skills. The course incorporates developmentally tailored activities for home practice, which parents document and reflect upon, facilitating a comprehensive learning experience. The first half of each class involves instruction for the child, followed by a detailed discussion with parents on activity plans and preventing/minimizing potential learning problems.
