About this Course

The "Reading for the Logic Stage I" is a full-year course that aims to engage logic-stage students in reading and literary discussion. Students will meet with an instructor once a week to discuss the week's reading, using prompts provided by the instructor to guide the discussion. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to serve as discussion facilitators throughout the semester. This course is designed to inspire a love of reading, introduce students to a range of texts, and cover the basics of literary analysis. It is the first course in a three-level sequence, and in this course, students will learn to read and respond to texts individually and in conversation with others, in both written and discussion formats. It is important for parents or guardians to review the proposed readings to ensure that the literature is appropriate for their student's maturity level.
