Pre-Algebra

This course is a comprehensive pre-algebra program designed for students in grades 7 to 8 (aged 12 to 14). It covers a wide range of mathematics topics, including measurement, the metric system, basic algebra, scientific notation, graphs, statistics, probability, business mathematics, and fundamental geometry. The curriculum emphasizes problem-solving strategies to apply mathematical skills to real-world word problems. The course is structured to ensure a systematic and orderly presentation of concepts with ample time for review, aiming to provide a strong foundation for algebra.

The course uses scanned and uploaded homework, quizzes, and tests to facilitate submission and provide personal feedback, unlike standardized "automatically graded" math quizzes. The primary textbook required is the Memoria Pre-Algebra Student Text. Optional materials include the Memoria Pre-Algebra Teacher Manual and Solutions Key. Any kind of scanner can be used for uploading assignments, but smartphones can also convert images to PDF documents. Some students may choose to use tablets or computers to work on math problems during class, but this is not a requirement.
