About this Course

Physics Modeling Nature is a full-year, rigorous physics course designed for 11-12th grade students considering a career in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM). Building on Algebra I and basic Trigonometry knowledge, the course prepares students for college-level physics without requiring calculus. Its scope is similar to AP Physics 1 and 2 but provides a broader, interconnected perspective, as well as historical context, on the physics concepts and scientific community. Mandatory book readings, note-taking, essay questions, and written lab reports, using dedicated rubrics, foster critical thinking, self-expression, and self-motivation. Upon completion, students earn one high school course credit.
