This is a one-semester online physical science course designed for students in grades 9-10, with the possibility of accepting advanced 8th graders. The course offers a fundamental introduction to chemistry, with a focus on preparing students for a future high school chemistry course while also fostering a sense of wonder for the physical world. The course utilizes the inquiry process, encouraging students to think critically, ask questions, and communicate their findings. Hands-on labs, virtual labs, and a creative project are incorporated into the course. The weekly structure includes live classes, guided notes, videos, textbook and web-based reading assignments, and electronic homework assignments.
