Orthodox Saints, Nature, and Their Animal Friends | Spring

This online course delves into the historical and spiritual connections between humans and the natural world, with a lens focused on Christian saints from various eras. It examines the lives and deeds of these saints, who were unusually intertwined with the animal kingdom and the broader environment. The course aims to inspire students to reflect on and cultivate their own relationships with God's creation. It is an interdisciplinary exploration, drawing primarily from Religious Studies and History, and secondarily from English for the textual analysis of hagiographies.
