About this Course

The course "New Testament Greek 2: Intermediate" is designed for current upper school students, building upon the foundation established in New Testament Greek 1: Beginner. It continues the study of classical Greek vocabulary and grammar, focusing on New Testament and Orthodox Church texts, such as the Lord's Prayer, Trisagion, and Divine Liturgy. Key skills developed include pronunciation (following modern/received pronunciation), typing Greek, and comprehension of classical and New Testament Greek texts. This course is the equivalent of one high school credit in foreign language.

Major topics covered include intermediate sentence structure, syntax, numbers, degrees of adjectives and adverbs, contract verbs, indefinite and interrogative pronouns, the Perfect, Pluperfect, and Future Perfect tenses, and the Subjunctive and Optative moods. The course aims to deepen students' faith, broaden their cultural understanding, and reinforce their knowledge of history, grammar, and etymology.
