Dr. Finotti is an excellent teacher who strives to help students understand math at a conceptual level. MVC is a college level course taught at a rigorous college level. It's great for students who love math and have maxed out the course offerings from other providers!
Classes are small - I think max of 12 students? There are 2 live, synchronous class sessions per week (cameras on). The sessions are interactive, with Dr. Finotti inviting student participation to assess and build understanding. There are also weekly, live office hours.
There are 2-3 midterms, one final, and weekly homework sets taken from the textbook, plus more complex writing problems for which she provides detailed feedback.
Dr. Finotti is responsive to both parent and student questions by email.
She really cares about the students, and even organized a summer speaker series to help students gain exposure to various math-related career fields.
Highly recommend Dr. Finotti!
