MS Acrylic Iconography Workshop | Spring

The online course titled "Middle School Iconography Workshop" is an art-focused course suitable for students aged 9 to 12. The workshop, which will run in the Spring of 2025, will center around painting an icon of Saint John of Shanghai and San Francisco using acrylic paint. Each class session will focus on the main icon project, but also include various activities aimed at enhancing students' artistic skills. The course begins with prayer and a brief presentation related to iconography or the saint being depicted. Students will learn to mix and apply acrylic paint for iconography and create realistic facial features in the iconographic style.

Every class follows a three-year cycle, each year focusing on a different skill related to icon painting, such as color, tone, value, Byzantine lettering, and line painting.
