Middle School Russian 1

This is a two-year introductory course in Russian language and culture designed for middle school students, roughly equivalent to a first-year high school Russian course. It aims to develop students' basic communication skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in Russian. Key areas of focus include the Russian alphabet, pronunciation rules, intonation, and fundamental grammar. Students learn to convey simple information and make short presentations about topics like family, friends, and daily life, and later progress to reading simple Russian paragraphs and presenting on Russian life and culture. Grammatical topics covered include questions, pronouns, gender endings and declensions, and the conjugation of verbs in present and past tenses.
