Middle School Latin 1

The online course "Middle School Latin 1" is designed for students aged 11 to 14, offering a seamless progression from the Upper Elementary Latin program. It serves as an excellent starting point for students new to CLRC's Latin programs as well, covering the first eight chapters of the Oxford Latin Course Part 1 at a pace adjusted for middle school students. Key learning areas include verb conjugations, noun declensions, cases, moods, and various grammatical concepts, with introductions to adverbs, conjunctions, and prepositions. English grammar is also integrated into the course. Classes are held twice weekly for 45 minutes each, with an additional 30-45 minutes of homework on non-class days.

The course is structured to review concepts from the upper elementary level while introducing new material and longer reading passages, aligning with the first semester of the high school Latin program. Upon completion, students will have a solid foundation in Latin grammar and vocabulary, preparing them for advanced Latin studies.
