Middle School Japanese

This introductory Japanese course is designed for first-year learners, focusing on building a strong foundation in the language. Over the course of one academic year, students will learn to accurately read, write, and pronounce the Hiragana and Katakana alphabets, totaling 90 letters. They will also develop basic conversational skills by learning essential phrases and understanding sentence structure through interactive activities and online resources. The course requires approximately 2-3 hours of weekly homework and preparation for assessments such as quizzes and tests. Upon completion, students will be able to introduce themselves and engage in simple conversations in Japanese, setting them up for success in high school Japanese 1.
