Magic Lens/Word Within the Word 1a

This is a year-long English language arts course with a focus on gifted students. It is divided into two semesters, 1A and 1B, with a week-long webinar each, providing both live sessions and recorded options. The curriculum includes in-depth study of parts of speech, sentence structure, phrases, and clauses through video lessons and literary contexts. Students also learn Michael Clay Thompson's 4-level sentence labeling system, explore word roots and vocabulary within great literature, and develop their writing and presentation skills using new vocabulary words. The course requires students to have "The Magic Lens, Volume 1" and "The Word Within the Word, Volume 1" by Michael Clay Thompson, which can be used in any edition.
