About this Course

This educational opportunity, housed within the Aquinas House of Studies, presents a structured, teacher-led book club for students. Aimed at cultivating a love for literature and active reading strategies, the program is designed for middle school students but is inclusive of upper school students as well. The workshop spans four sessions held once a month on Saturdays. The first meeting introduces students to the book list and guides them in setting up a literary notebook. Subsequent meetings involve group discussions on the chosen book, fostering a sense of community among participants. Each session includes modeled literary exercises for practice.

Outside of the live meetings, students have access to an online classroom in Canvas, offering additional resources such as light assignments, video lessons, book-related resources, discussion threads, and emails for ongoing support. This unique program provides flexibility for families, making it an ideal option for instilling a love of reading or incorporating literature into a packed schedule.
