Latin III

Latin III is an advanced online course designed to prepare students to translate Latin texts. It is structured as a full-year course, meeting weekly for an hour on Zoom, and is equivalent to one high school credit. The course builds on the foundations laid in Latin I and II, focusing on indicative and subjunctive moods, and expanding vocabulary by teaching around 300 new words. It blends grammar instruction with cultural exploration, including Roman history and the role of Latin in the Christian Church. Students will create a Latin comic as a capstone project, integrating grammar with cultural context. The course is taught using a virtual whiteboard and incorporates interactive online tools, multimedia activities, and review games.

Prerequisites include completing Latin I and II or equivalent, with prior instructor approval through testing.
