Latin 2

This full-year course, Latin 2, is designed for students who have completed Latin 1 or an equivalent course. It builds upon the foundation established in Latin 1, continuing to develop students' understanding of Latin grammar and reading skills. Using the award-winning Latin Alive! Book 2 as the primary text, students will learn over 500 new Latin vocabulary words and explore English words derived from Latin. The course focuses on translating adapted writings from original Latin authors and acquainting students with ancient Roman history and culture. Students are expected to study independently and memorize vocabulary and grammar, completing regular homework assignments. The course is equivalent to one high school credit in a foreign language.
