Kinesiology & Nutrition I
About this Course
The online course "Kinesiology and Nutrition I: Movement and Healthy Choices" is a one-semester course that focuses on the importance of healthy movement habits for an active lifestyle. The course consists of four main points of emphasis: understanding the mechanical and neurological processes that allow the body to move dynamically, applying that understanding to practice basic functional movements, learning how to establish habits for physical health, and identifying the challenges to health living in modern life. Students will explore brain-body interaction, physiological foundations to movement patterns, muscle and joint functions, goal development, exercise habits, and contemporary life's impact on exercise habits. It is important to note that the courses in the Kinesiology & Nutrition series do not need to be taken sequentially and this course alternates with Kinesiology & Nutrition III: Rest & Recover.
