About this Course
This online course offers an engaging introduction to the Spanish language, which is spoken by millions of people around the world and in the United States. The course is designed for students in grades 6 and 7 and focuses on building a strong foundation in Spanish through the use of action-oriented vocabulary and basic grammar patterns. The course meets twice a week for 45 minutes to accommodate young attention spans and provide repetition to strengthen language skills.
The first semester of the course focuses on singular subjects, allowing students to quickly begin speaking and using dialogues. The second semester builds on this foundation by introducing more complex concepts, including plural subjects. Each class begins with students reciting biblical verses in Spanish to develop pronunciation, intonation, and speaking skills. Students also have the opportunity to practice listening, reading, writing, and speaking through a variety of activities, both in class and during home study time.
