Introduction to Engineering

This is a one-semester course focused on introducing students to the field of engineering, with a emphasis on the engineering design process. The course covers various types of engineering such as chemical, environmental, mechanical, civil, and electrical. Students will participate in design projects that will help solidify their understanding of engineering concepts. They can expect to read assigned pre-class material, discuss problems, and work individually and in groups to solve engineering problems. Household and/or craft materials will be required for the engineering design projects.

Prerequisites for this course include enrollment in or successful completion of Pre-Algebra. It is recommended that parents review the proposed readings to ensure alignment with their student's maturity level.
