About this Course

This is a self-paced, online economics course designed for 9th-12th grade students, with the possibility of acceptance for advanced 8th graders. The course is one semester long and covers fundamental economic concepts, with a focus on microeconomics and key topics such as scarcity, opportunity costs, and inflation. The curriculum is divided into sixteen modules, featuring assignments such as managing a virtual lemonade stand, analyzing economic systems of different countries, and participating in a stock simulation game. Students can expect approximately 4 hours of coursework per week, including homework and quizzes.

The course provides students with regular feedback through comments and individualized assessments on assignments, using Canvas as the main platform for communication. Parents are encouraged to join Canvas as observers for updates on their child's progress. To participate, students need to ensure they have streaming video capabilities.
