About this Course

This online course introduces high school students with no prior knowledge to the grammar and vocabulary of Biblical Hebrew. Over two semesters, students first learn the Hebrew alphabet, nouns, adjectives, pronouns, and some participles. In the second semester, the focus shifts to Hebrew verbs, and students aim to read the entire Book of Jonah by the end of the course. The instructor, who is Catholic (unique among CLRC Christian studies classes), does not emphasize theological interpretation, concentrating instead on the language's grammar and syntax. The course awards 1 Language credit to high school students upon completion.
