Introduction to American History

This course offers an in-depth exploration of American history, concentrating on the lead-up to the country's formation and key figures and events that molded its past up to 1877. It delves into the culture, people, and ideas associated with America, encouraging students to engage with historical personalities within their specific contexts. Rather than focusing solely on dates and facts, the course aims to foster a broader understanding of America's heritage and its impact on citizenship. Throughout the year, students will be assessed through regular quizzes, two papers, an oral presentation, and two exams.
