About this Course
This is a live, graded online psychology course for high school students in grades 9-12, aligned with the CLEP psychology exam. The course is highly interactive, with two live components per week including a one-hour live lecture and a one-hour live chat. The course covers topics such as neuroscience, development, sensation and perception, methods of learning, memory, intelligence, motivation, emotion, personality, and psychological disorders. Students can expect to spend 4-6 hours per week on this course, which includes reading, answering multiple-choice questions, writing essays, discussing class topics, and participating in online chats and live sessions.
The course structure includes chapter tests and essays, completion of sample “psychological assessments”, performing conditioning experiments, building a virtual brain and nervous system, and conducting a mini-research study. The course is interactive and encourages students to submit questions and interact with the instructor during live sessions. Students will receive weekly email updates and feedback on their work within a week of the due date. The grading policy is liberal and students can expect bi-weekly tests, essays, and three major projects throughout the course.
