Intermediate Painting | Spring

This online course, titled "Fundamentals of Painting," is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in painting techniques. Spanning a semester, the course begins with an in-depth study of color theory, value, and brushwork through copying masterpieces in watercolor. Students then progress to working with oil and acrylic paints, exploring color mixing, layering, and texture. The course culminates in a final project, a highly refined still-life, portrait, or landscape. Alongside practical studio work, students participate in class critiques and discussions about art history, the role of arts in the Church, and the intersection of faith and creativity.
