About this Course

This online course examines the criminal trial process and the importance of the right to a trial by jury in a free society. Students will explore the inner workings of a trial, including how a case is proven and the potential for a criminal to go free. The course is interactive, allowing students to analyze famous trials, complete assignments such as legal memoranda and motion arguments, and participate in a mock murder trial. Students will also learn about the roles of different players in the courtroom, such as police officers, prosecutors, defense attorneys, and judges. This course has been designed using skills from the TPS Street Law course. It is listed on a TPS transcript as an Academic Elective.
