About this Course

The Latin III course is designed to build upon prior Latin knowledge, primarily from Latin II. It delves into the intricate structure of Latin verbs, covering all tenses, voices, and moods. A significant aspect of the course is the exploration of various subordinate clauses, including indirect speech, conditionals, 'cum', 'dum', 'ut' clauses, and clauses of fearing. Additionally, students will study the connecting relative, ablative absolutes, impersonal verbs, gerunds, and gerundives. Upon completion, students will be equipped to read 'real' Latin.

The course is offered to students from grade 7 up to adults, with the prerequisite of having completed Latin II or securing the instructor's permission. It's highly recommended for high school students seeking a language credit, as completion entitles them to one. Students should procure "The Oxford Latin Course Part III - 2nd Edition."
