High School French 4 is an advanced language course designed for fourth-year students who have already acquired a solid foundation in French grammar and vocabulary. The semester-long course,conducted primarily in French, emphasizes reading authentic literature and improving spoken communication skills. It offers 30 hours of live online instruction per semester, focusing on complex grammar topics such as the subjunctive mood, passive voice, and literary tenses. Students engage with diverse reading materials and prepare weekly oral presentations, reinforcing their comprehension and pronunciation. The course culminates in three major assignments: a fictional story, a literary analysis, and a podcast. Students are also encouraged to take the National French Exam and may earn 1 Language credit upon completion.
